Authorization Basis: The Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO) is by Icelandic law in charge of issuing forecast and warnings in the field of weather and weather related matters, suchs as avalanche, landslide, floods and storm surge, and for geophysical matters suchs as earthquakes and volcanoes. IMO is in charge of issuing evacuation orders in the case of avalanche.
